Meditate Your Way to Weight Loss

Updated: Feb 7, 2021

Mind-set is everything and meditation is extremely effective to keep your mindset positive by quieting down the daily barrage of negative thoughts we think and are subjected to. If at all possible avoid judging others and especially yourself. The little mind is always judging and thinking about everything but what’s important, which causes stress.

Stress can lead to weight gain, especially around the belly.

Breathe.

Breathing is SO important. I know, you breathe naturally. But do you Really Breathe?

Take a few moments out of each day to stop and focus on your breath.

Close your eyes and imagine you can see your nostrils or the end of your nose in your mind’s eye.

Take a deep breath in all the way down into your belly. Hold it for a count of 2 and release through your mouth, blowing all the air out in a nice even, steady stream. Hold it for a count of 2 and inhale again….repeat 6 to 10 times, then allow your breathing to relax to your normal, natural rhythm. In your mind follow your breath, observe the natural rise and fall without judgment.

New studies in Neuro Science show that taking 6-10 deep breaths in a row causes positive changes in your brain, increases oxygen levels and relieves stressful thoughts. Feeling more positive leads to confidence and more energy to get more done.

Meditation doesn't have to take a long time. In fact, taking 6-10 deep breaths in a row can be done while you're working, driving or even upon waking up in the morning.

No doubt, it is the simplest way to make positive changes that will last and help you move toward your happiness and weight loss goals.
